As we approach Labor Day, we are reminded of the immense contributions made by the American workforce. This annual holiday is not just a time for backyard grilling or the symbolic end of summer; it’s a celebration of the dedication, resilience and hard work of millions of people who keep the country running.
Despite the challenges and uncertainties we face – whether political, economic or social – Labor Day serves as a unifying force, reminding us that no matter our differences, we all share a common purpose: the pursuit of progress, success and the well-being of our families. In the financial services industry, we see firsthand how important the workforce is, as people invest in their futures and plan for retirement. These are the fruits of labor—long hours, dedication, and smart decisions.
Creating Spaces for Success in the Workplace
At LifeBridge Financial Group, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable assets. The environment we create for them, directly impacts their success and happiness, which in turn affects the quality of service we provide to our clients. A supportive workplace is one where employees feel heard, valued and empowered to grow.
So, what does it mean to create a space where employees can thrive?
- Open Communication: Regular, transparent communication fosters trust and ensures that employees feel connected to the company’s vision.
- Work-Life Balance: A strong emphasis on balance allows employees to maintain their personal well-being while excelling in their roles.
- Professional Development: Offering opportunities for growth through training, mentorship, and challenging projects keeps employees engaged and motivated.
When our team feels supported, they can be at their best, guiding clients through important financial decisions with clarity and confidence. To shed more light on how we foster this environment, we sat down with Brigette Bazile, our Client Service Associate to hear her perspective on the workplace and the role it plays in her success.
Interview with Brigette Bazile, Client Service Associate
Q: How has our firm helped you grow in your role, and what workplace values do you find most important?
A: Our firm has helped me grow within my role in numerous ways. Here are three that come to mind. First, by encouraging continuous learning and education. Second, by providing constructive feedback and performance evaluations. Finally, by keeping an open-door policy. Workplace values that I find to be important are respect and inclusion, transparency and ownership and collaboration and teamwork!
Q: In what ways do you feel supported by leadership and your colleagues?
A: I believe that leadership and my colleagues foster a supportive and inclusive work environment and because of this, it allows me to be unapologetically myself and thrive in my role. Another is I can always count on them as they are extremely dependable.
Q: How do you find balance between your work and personal life, and what practices help you maintain that balance?
A: I find balance between work and personal life mainly because the firm encourages it. Leadership promotes work-life balance and employee well-being and because of this, I find myself in less stressful situations. A few practices that I strongly believe help me are preparation, time management and organization.
